Welcome to Living Springs MCC, Bath
Living Springs MCC was founded in Bath in 1989 to serve Christians who were excluded from other churches for whatever reason, and now offers an open and vibrant spiritual home for people from many Christian traditions and none. We have a particular ministry to people within the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered communities, although participation within the life and ministry of the church is not an indication of lifestyle or sexual orientation - all people are welcome to join us on an adventure of spirituality and faith.
We meet for worship every Sunday at 6.00pm at the United Reformed Church Halls, Grove Street, Bath and you will be very welcome. For more information about us and our church life, click on the buttons below.
For families, child care/creche facilities are available with prior arrangement. Currently we have two people with full CRB checks, but they don't necessarily attend every week.

Would Jesus Discriminate? The 21st century question
Join us in conversation!
Living Springs Metropolitan Community Church started a public conversation over the question, Would Jesus Discriminate? when, on the evening of Saturday 6 October, we launched an outreach initiative by holding a rally in the open air to bring this question to public notice.
Not so long ago the Bible was used to justify discrimination. It was used to prevent the ordination of women and to prevent women from gaining their right to vote. The Bible was also used to support slavery as a ‘holy’ cause. These errors have now been rectified. But it seems that these errors are now being made against others within our community, because there are still too many using the Bible today to rationalise discrimination and prejudice against lesbians, gay men and transgendered people.
That is why we feel compelled to ask, Would Jesus Discriminate? Instinctively, we believe that most people would answer, “No”. We know that Jesus refused to be bound by cultural and religious prejudice by purposefully going out of his way to include and welcome all those people who were despised by the Pharisees. He repeatedly took up the cause of the oppressed and defended them against these legalistic and rigid religious leaders. The example of Jesus is surely the way to follow, and not the misuse of the Bible.
It is a very great sadness to us that there are many people in our community who believe a lie. They believe that God hates them. And so in response to this lie, we wish to call upon Christians of goodwill to have the courage to follow Christ’s example; we want to call upon spiritual and political leaders to work publicly for an end to discrimination – speaking out on behalf of all people whose lives are marginalised by hatred and bigotry, and sometimes even jeopardised by violence.
Homophobia is sadly a cultural prejudice that has not been helped by certain religious doctrine. We want those who have been badly affected by such doctrine, and who have been turned away from the church, to come to realise that God does love them and that, because God doesn’t make mistakes, they are made as they are for a purpose – for God has known them from the beginning.
To help us with our conversation we have included material on this site concerned with the Would Jesus Discriminate question – just click on the question below. We look forward to hearing from you.
